Taiwan Association for Victims of Occupational Injuries (TAVOI)
Established in 1992, TAVOI is the gathering of workers who suffer from occupational injuries and disease and the family of the injured workers across Taiwan who have organized themselves to urge government and corporates to pay more attention to occupational safety issues, preventing occupational hazards, ensuring the health of labourers. TAVOI also struggles for political power and a society with safe working environments.
Other than casework and policy advocacy, TAVOI also practices drawing, music, writing as empowerment methods to get through obstacles, oppression and stigmatization collectively, and creates space for social dialogue. Collective creative work includes “Home videos on Occupational Injuries" , “Refuse to Be Forgotten: the Oral History of RCA Workers“, “Go for A Ride with Mom", etc..
