八十年代初的前半生曾在跨國公司打過工,見識過它們如何掠奪貧窮國家的資源。見過泰國、韓國、菲律賓工人的生活苦況。讀過藝術,了解到藝術與社會有緊密扣連,之後跟風花雪月的創作風格絕緣。九十年代下半生搞藝術教育,目的希望加快公民社會的出現。一直相信藝術可以感染人心,讓冷漠的社會多一點溫暖;又或者為民眾充權,抗衡非人性的社會壓迫。強項是啓發思考,弱項是組織工作。

Ricky worked for trans-national corporations for the first half of his life and has seen with his own eyes how these corporations exploited the resources of poor places. He saw the suffering of workers in Thailand, Korea and the Phillipines. He studied art and came to know how close was the relatonship between art and society, then he said goodbye to the individualistic romantic style. In the later 1990s, he concentrated in art education, aimed at being a catalyst in the emergence of civil society. He believed that art can touch people’s heart, and give warmth to this cold society, and art can empower people to resist inhuman social oppression. Ricky considers himself good at inspire people to think and weak in organization work.
